Start Elevator has been a family-owned business since 1992. As an organization, we are proud to have a workforce that not only makes promises to our clients but is determined to follow through on them.
One of those customer service powerhouses is Deana Albertelli, Assistant Modernization Manager. The majority of elevator modernization is done through refurbishing existing equipment, either by replacing or restoring what’s installed. Deana works in the team that drafts and executes contract documents, keeps Customers informed regarding all aspects of their projects, and interacts with the NYC Dept. of Buildings.
People. That’s what keeps Deana driven day to day. After two decades in the business, through changes and challenges, she’s made it her mission to always put the client first.
“It’s fulfilling to me when I can have a client say, ‘You know what, we trust you. We know you’re doing the job properly because we’ve worked with you before. I don’t need the details, just do what you do.” – Deana Albertelli
In the end, this level of trust Deana built with Start Elevator clients makes it easier for her to get the job done efficiently.
Part of the reason why Deana has been so successful with clients is due to her organizational skills. She jokes that she’s organized to a fault. Every day, Deana creates and updates her running task list. If an item is incomplete, she leaves it pending and creates a follow-up list for the next day.
“Being organized is one of my main strengths, and it’s something everyone appreciates.” – Deana Albertelli
Of course, having a candy bowl doesn’t hurt either. Whether she’s chatting with co-workers or clients, that bowl on her desk often proves useful. Deana insists, “That candy bowl is integral to cooling people off. It works every single time.” After all, who can be upset with a Tootsie Roll in their mouth?
“I try to be as helpful with clients as possible, and let them know I’m available, at your service, for whatever you may need. To me, there are no stupid questions.” – Deana Albertelli
“Stupid question” simply isn’t a phrase in Deana’s vocabulary. A big part of her success is based on her ability to meet clients where they’re at, without expecting them to understand the details. She is determined to make the information as digestible as possible.
A key part of Deana’s role is to engage with consultants, and she often collaborates with the same consultants on a regular basis. It’s something she enjoys, as these relationships help to make her role easier and more efficient when it comes to serving the customer.
This has made her able to run the gamut with clients. Deana has a wide range of consultants available to support her based on the mutual respect they’ve developed over the years. That also happens to be another thing Deana loves about the elevator industry; everyone’s willingness to help each other.
John “Jack” O’Shea has big plans for Start Elevator, with hopes to expand the business both in terms of size and reach. Deana appreciates how Jack shares his dreams with his employees and makes them believe in them as well.
“Jack has a lot of dreams, and he enjoys getting other people on board with those dreams. But it’s a two-way street; he can’t do it without all of us, and we’re up for the challenge to help push this business further.” – Deana Albertelli
Deana Albertelli and her colleagues at Start Elevator are focused on delivering professional elevator services that maximize return on investment. To chat with someone who can help you plan for the future of your elevators, contact Start Elevator today.
